Re: Enroll UX 2014: User-Friendly Design

RE: Are there other online designs that you know of that are (or you anticipate they will) make life easier? Are there things that haven't yet, but would, greatly benefit from this type of treatment?

How timely this subject is! My other class this semester is Information Architecture for Website Design. I naively thought that it would be easy, because I'm a pretty organized person... two weeks in and I am so overwhelmed. If anyone in the class has had to trudge through the process of a content inventory analysis of a website, I can almost hear your audible groan matching my own in perfect harmony. IT IS AWFUL.

After I saw the video (amazing what they did, btw!) I shuddered. I couldn't even begin to imagine being the IA on that project! Regarding the questions posted above though, online banking through PNC, and its app has made my life much, much easier. I've been paper free for years (what is a checkbook??) I couldn't ever imagine writing things down in a tiny ledger and keeping track of a small notebook filled with sensitive information ever again... in fact, I can't believe I wasn't ever the victim of identity theft because when I had a paper checkbook, I lost it every other month.

PNC's online banking and virtual wallet is color coded, well-organized, full of charts, graphs, a lot of different options to present your information. (And no, these are screenshots from google image search, NOT my actual account!)
