Re: Getting out of your comfort zone

I am going through a serious creative block myself and I too doubt myself a lot when it comes to design. I stated before that a major problem I face is putting the artist hat down and focusing on being Cierra the Designer. I have an idea of what I want to do but I am unsure of how to execute it in hopes of it not being too cliche. I've had this occurrence off on and all semester and it has been very difficult for me to come up with a witty and clear idea in a decent time frame. For some reason I tend to get my ideas and concepts at the last minute and I would like to break free from that.

I overcome my lack of confidence by simply stepping away from the project for a few days to allow new inspirations come to mind. I also like to talk with others to get feedback and criticism on what I may need to work on. I find that information to be very helpful even if it's not what I want to hear.

If you are really passionate about your idea, I think you should go for the illustrations. They may actually work very well with your director and movie choice. But make sure to get some great feedback before printing.
