Last week I was reading a blog post from CreativeBloq.com titled "How to design a poster: 10 pro tips." in hopes of finding help getting started with my movie poster series. As discussed with my group on Thursday, I'm at a complete creative block, but this isn't my ordinary creative block, in fact it seems to be the complete opposite. I know exactly what I want to do but I can't seem to figure out how to execute my ideas. The article helped me create a structure plan but that is about it, I have all 10 steps complete, yet I still don't know where to begin. What I want to do involves illustrating, something I haven't tried before and I am psyching myself out. I could take the easy route and stick to something I am comfortable doing, but I'm trying to do something new for once and it is now keeping me from getting anywhere on my project. So my questions for you all are:
1. Do you ever find yourself doubting your design abilities? if so what do you do to overcome them?
2. Have you pushed yourself out of your design comfort level?
3. Are there any other design disciplines you want to give a try?
4. Should I keep pushing myself to try illustrating for this project? or should I wait to try when there is no due date or dealings involved?
