RE: The Future of Publication Design

Not to overwork the subject matter and because this topic is making me a bit nausea, I think there were a number of good observations and points made about the future of Publication Design.

I am not sure how excited I am about the whole digital aspect of Publication Design. In fact, this topic reminds me of my architecture professor who was and is the perfect "hand renderer/sketcher." In fact, he is amazing with pen and ink. And then came technology and AutoCad, my professor hated it. He was definitely against the computer for the purposes of drawing a site plan digitally. I felt his pain. One must learn to crawl before they can walk (as most say). Needless to say, I still feel his pain and I feel the same pain with the aspect of Publication Design of the future.

I personally haven't jumped the broom with digital technology as far as E-books are concerned. As a few have mentioned I still enjoy the feel of  a book. I also still enjoy reading newspapers while having a quick bite to eat. On the flip side of things, my son owns a Kindle, courtesy of his grandparents...but his mom makes him read books.

It's sort of a blog for people with attention spans." -- Stephen Colbert (via)
