Re: The Power of Persuasion

I first saw this ad years ago, but it's stuck with me longer than any Super Bowl commercial because, Lord, is it effective. Rather than focusing on the short-term pleasures, it's chosen to focus on the long-term consequences of unprotected sex by showing a man who became a father too young and, as a result, has no idea how to raise a child. I also really like the humor this ad, though it takes too long to get to the point and I really thought it was for some kind of language program the first time I saw it.

One of my favorite ads, however, has to be this one from VW, because it's bloody adorable. Although this one also doesn't get to the point til the end, it doesn't bother me in this case because, you know, tiny Darth Vader. I also love the implication that tiny Darth Vader might be a girl (based on the bedroom shown), barring the possibility that he/she has a sister. It's subtle and it's not the point of the ad, but it's still pretty nice to have.
