I like the idea of creating signs from the homeless that make a homeless person less easy to ignore, but am concerned that it will cause someone to think that they don't need help if they have such a "fancy" sign. I would rather give money to someone who has a humorous sign, like the husband whose family was taken by ninjas. That is clever and attention-getting--much like the quirky marketing commercials that we've embraced so much.
Has anyone seen the Sears commercial with the coupon cutting squirrels? Commercials barely need to speak to their product anymore as long as they contain humor or some other attention-getting gimick.
