Out of these examples I am leaning towards option 2. Let me think about its presentation because I am wondering if the mustache can be adjusted so it melds more with the Signature.. the complement each other.
I'm not sure any of these are working. His signature is very light and pen-strokey, as signatures often are. The mustaches are very heavy in comparison. He had a really thick mustache didn't he? I'm leaning toward a lighter stroke used for the mustache, to mimic the characters in his autograph, but then it wouldn't be the right kind of mustache right? The third one is the most sparse out of all of them so far, the other ones are looking a little like bow ties at the moment. Would there be a way to subtly make that long horizontal stroke used in the "T" into a mustache? It might be difficult to pull off, and it might be a terrible idea, but it might be worth a shot.
I agree that these aren't there yet, but I wanted to focus on the placement and size of the signature. My opinion is you should make the signature large for a logo, because when scaled down it would be hard to read. I'm leaning towards #2 and #4 because of the proportion. Number 4 is interesting because it's off centered. I'd need to see it put in use in order to give a better opinion on that. Number 5 reminds me of a toupee instead of a mustache. Overall, you're getting there and I love where it's going. It can definately work and I already can invision the logo working well. Just some fine tuning. :)
Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to continue playing with this and will try all of your suggestions including incorporating the mustache into the T.
