Holiday Card V3
Hey ya'll. I tried a different font and played with the line length and the space between rhyming couplets. I also killed the UB bee and found this cute little guy who I felt was just cute enough but not so cute to be undeanly, in my opinion anyway. I'm gonna play with the dotted lines some more when I'm in the lab tomorrow. There should probably be less path.
Jim: I'm liking what you've done here, but I agree that it doesn't need to bleed off the top.
Mo: This is a stellar improvement. That background blue color wasn't really popping but white is looking nice and clean. The girl looks much more alive now that we can see her. Check your spelling on "Get Involved" and try to center the words in that orange button. I like the new logo, but it could maybe slide right a little to match the element on the bottom-left, gridwise. On the second page you could use a little padding above "How to be a sports warrior."
Shannon: I know how hard you worked to make it look hand-lettered, but this is a great second choice. The pinecones are elegant, and the colors are soothing. The crabs wouldn't fit with this piece either, I would leave it as it. Nice job.
Layla and Erin: I think you both deserve to win. I love the little bee roasting his stinger. This one really has a holiday "feel." If you could tweak anything to make it perfect, I'd try to make the right side of the blown up circle a little less raggedy, for lack of a better word, and maybe tighten up the border on the snow on that branch. Erin I think the third is "safer" but who wants to be safe? The first is my favorite. I'd definitely send that to people.
Good luck everyone!
