Cats and things

These two beasts are Frisky and Missy. We didn't name them; they actually belonged to the previous owner of our house. He couldn't take them with him when he moved, and he didn't want to separate them, so we volunteered to keep them on. Missy loves catnip and hugs. Frisky is a big bully who eats Missy's food. They sing in harmony when it's time for breakfast.

This is my co-worker, Taxi. She was discovered a year ago hanging around behind the office, with no identification or chip, so I convinced my boss to take her in. She likes sitting on office equipment, shoving things off desks, and demanding belly rubs.

This is just a photo I took of a utility pole near campus; it's since been painted over. Poor Donut. :(

And finally, as promised, Mouse vs. Biscuit:

Good videos

What does the fox say? It's my guardian angel in disguise:

And now if you need a therapist:

Lastly, here's some sage advice from the "Bat Dad"

I almost forgot to include this marketing lightning bolt:

Funny Video #4 (not safe for work!) + Cat Pics (safe for work)

Cats
Got a good video for you guys (one that's especially appealing to Oriole Fans), but first, it's CAT TIME! I've never gotten the okay to post pictures of my cats on a class blog, so how can I resist? Please excuse me while I get my crazy-cat-lady on for a minute.

This is JOLENE to the left. She's
the world's best snuggle bunny and
is very talkative. Our daily
discussions are fairly myopic in
scope... usually food-related,
although sometimes she complains
to me about Franka (pictured below
giving me the stink-eye as I prepare
to go to town on her coat with a de-
shedding comb).

FRANKA's typical day features her partici-
pating in one of three activities: eating
out of her dish; sleeping in her bed; and
eating out of Jolene's dish. She is literally
twice the size of Jolene. For all her glut-
tony, she is a fierce hunter of mice, stink
bugs, and centipedes. She is also my first
adulthood pet, so I at times revere her
like she were my own kid. I'm proud to
say that Franka and Jolene are both
rescues, the only kind of pet I could ever
hope to share my home with.

Finally (just because it's so funny),
on the left is one of my boyfriend's
three new kitties. They're huge now,
but at the time I took this, they
were three identical little grey fuzz
balls. I think this one is Nermal
Pickles Powers (the runt of the litter).
I call this photo, "Kitten Dreams".

Moving on....
Here's a fun one that made it's way around my work, where almost everyone is a rabid sports fan:

While I enjoy going to baseball games, I don't really follow the sport and was surprised and amused to learn about the antics of former Orioles Manager and Hall-Of-Famer, Earl Weaver. Weaver was a talented coach and strategist, but he had a mouth like a sailor, loved picking fights with umpires, and was ejected from a whopping 91 games (98 by some people's counts).

The below is a collage stop-action animation short made to accompany a radio interview from '82 that never actually aired (the reason for that will become abundantly clear). You can read all about the prank interview here. The film was made by beloved Baltimore filmmaker and artist, Skizz Cyzyk. I love this clip not just for the audio (which is beyond ridiculous), but for Cyzyk's visuals which are nothing if not completely and hilariously random.

Please enjoy! But, again, put in your ear-buds if you're at work or around children!

More homeless sign projects?!

So I saw this the other day and it reminded me of the blog topic a few weeks ago. While it is not really design, it is about different attempts with collecting money on the street with sign for the homeless so i thought I would share.

Funny Video #3

I like the dog videos, they are too cute!

Unfortunately, I do not have an animal video; but I DO have something that may make you all chuckle...or cringe...or both! This is one of my favorite commercials:

Funny Video #2

I guess I will continue the dog trend (Shake)…

See still photos of dogs shaking off water at photographer, Carli Davidson's website - there is even a book for sale.

Funny Video

This is a favorite video of mine because I have a border collie and this video illustrates just how much border collies like to play fetch. Unfortunately for this border collie, his intended stick thrower is not a human being...
