Oh! Bleeding Cowboy! I never knew what it was called and I—ahem—kind of like it, but you are right, it’s definitely overused.
Personally, I’ve got a love/hate relationship with Futura. I love it so much that I hate it. I always start with it, I always have to play with the kerning, and I always switch it 17 billion times to “try something different for once.” And most of the time it ends up in my final design. It’s just...so...perfect. Helvetica, on the other hand, just irks me. But it’s symbolic of design in general, and I appreciate that.
